Screenwriting software with desktop licenses and cloud subscriptions.
Savings opportunities available through Final Draft coupon codes
Final Draft offers several ways to spend less on screenwriting software. Final Draft 13 costs USD $199.99 against its USD $249.99 regular price, with a single payment for the desktop license. Eligible students and educators can buy Final Draft 13 Educational for USD $99.99 rather than USD $129.99. The Military edition costs USD $129.99 against USD $249.99 for qualifying service members and veterans. Final Draft Suite also offers annual billing, alongside a monthly subscription. These purchase routes serve different eligibility groups and billing preferences; the educational and military editions retain the full program rather than providing reduced versions.
Eligible products and services
Service categories frequently on promotion
Final Draft discounts cover distinct license types, so the purchase option determines the starting amount. The personal desktop edition is a one-time purchase, while Suite combines Final Draft 13 and Final Draft Cloud under a subscription. Upgrade pricing serves owners of an earlier registered desktop version and requires their customer number or registered email. Educational pricing requires qualifying academic status, with verification before purchase. Schools and nonprofits have multi-user volume licensing priced yearly per seat. A site license starts with three seats for USD $365.36, and its seat count determines the quoted package.
Services usually excluded from promo codes
Separate purchases and eligibility restrictions matter when choosing a Final Draft discount. Final Draft Go is a separate iOS app purchased through the iOS App Store. A personal Final Draft 13 license does not include Final Draft Cloud; Suite has its own subscription billing. Applicable sales or use taxes are payable by the subscriber and may appear on periodic statements. Previously refunded or returned products are not eligible for upgrade discounts. Academic pricing requires study at a university or other accredited school, so a screenwriting course outside those institutions does not qualify for that purchase route.
Factors influencing the final discount value
Impact of billing cycle on promotional price
Annual billing lowers the subscription outlay for a full year of Final Draft Suite. Its Annual Plan is USD $99.99 per year, while the Monthly Plan is USD $16.99 per month. Both include a free five-day trial before paid billing begins. Subscription fees are billed in advance, and recurring subscriptions renew at the then-current fee unless cancelled. Final Draft can change fees with advance notice or by posting changed fees online. The desktop purchase uses a single payment instead. Educational site licenses use yearly pricing and manual renewal, with seats adjustable for the next year.
Promo codes vs. automatically applied offers
Final Draft's displayed purchase discounts and entered promo codes use different purchase steps. The personal and educational desktop options show a reduced amount alongside the regular amount before checkout. Upgrade eligibility depends on a previously registered customer number or email, while academic purchases require educational verification. An applicable entered promotion goes through Apply Promo Code beneath the order summary, and applying it adjusts the purchase amount. Military eligibility is checked through SheerID and may require additional documentation. The selected license and its eligibility requirements establish which purchase discount the customer can receive.
Accessing active codes for Final Draft
The offers on this page can be entered through Apply Promo Code beneath the Final Draft order summary. Choose the license first; for an upgrade, supply the customer number or email registered to the earlier version. The purchase then reaches account sign-in or registration and payment information. Opening Apply Promo Code reveals the entry area, and applying an applicable promotion adjusts the amount. The summary identifies the selected product and order total before Place Order completes the transaction. A successful purchase sends the receipt and download links by email. Account credentials also provide access to the purchased software. Scroll up for the current Final Draft offers.

Enter a Final Draft promo code beneath the order summary; the amount adjusts when an applicable promotion is applied. The checkout control is labelled Apply Promo Code, with an entry area that opens before you submit the promotion. For an upgrade purchase, the earlier customer number or registered email is entered on the product page before the account step. The purchase process then requests account sign-in or registration and payment information. Place Order completes the transaction after payment details and promotions have been entered. Successful purchases send a receipt and download links by email, so the reduced amount belongs in the order summary before that final purchase step.
A Final Draft promo code must apply to the selected order; upgrade discounts also require a previously registered purchase. The upgrade entry asks for a valid registered customer number or the email address used to register the previous version. Customers who do not know their number can request it through the retrieval link on the upgrade page. Previously refunded or returned products are excluded from upgrade discounts. An applicable promotion is entered beneath the order summary through Apply Promo Code and then applied to adjust the amount. The eligibility information belongs on the upgrade page before the account and payment steps; entering a promotion does not supply that required purchase history.
Yes, existing Final Draft customers with a registered earlier desktop purchase can qualify for an upgrade discount. The upgrade and full version are the same program; the reduced purchase route is for previous users. Eligibility is established with a registered customer number or email showing the earlier purchase. The account email used for the new purchase does not have to match the email previously registered for the software. The upgrade opens files written in older versions through File > Open after installation. Refunded or returned products do not qualify for upgrade discounts, which makes the status of the earlier license relevant when choosing this purchase option.
Final Draft educational discounts require qualifying students or current teachers, faculty and staff at a school or university. Students must study at a university or other accredited school; a screenwriting course outside those institutions does not qualify. Teachers, faculty and staff must currently be employed at a qualifying school or university. US staff eligibility is checked through SheerID, while non-US educational purchases use an independent institution check. Final Draft 13 Educational provides the same program as the full edition at its educational purchase amount. A student under eighteen needs a parent or guardian to complete the purchase, with the software sign-in credentials held under that adult's email address.
Yes, Final Draft offers its Military discount to people who served or currently serve in the United States Armed Forces. Eligibility is checked through SheerID, and additional information or documentation may be requested during that process. The Military edition and the full version provide the same program, with the difference being the eligible customer's purchase amount. The discounted route has its own product page and Buy now purchase control. Direct single-user software purchases carry a thirty-day money-back guarantee, subject to the refund conditions. Signing out of every installed computer and removal of account entitlements are required before a software refund can be issued.
Final Draft's status-based discounts are available through its online store rather than the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store cannot validate academic, military, veteran, first-responder or upgrade eligibility for these purchase discounts. The online store provides separate educational and upgrade purchase routes, alongside the personal desktop option. Upgrade customers provide a registered customer number or email from their earlier purchase; educational customers must meet the relevant academic criteria. The purchased desktop software can be downloaded for a compatible MacOS or Windows computer. For an applicable entered promotion, the online checkout places Apply Promo Code under the order summary before the purchase is completed.
Yes, Final Draft Suite provides a free five-day trial before the selected subscription begins billing. The trial allows use on one computer at a time, and the Annual or Monthly selection made at checkout determines the subsequent subscription. Customers who own Final Draft 13 or an earlier version can also use the trial. Files edited during it can be opened afterward in the older desktop version already installed. Cancellation during the trial prevents a subscription fee, while trial access continues until its scheduled end. The cancellation route is My Account > My Licenses > Actions > Cancel Subscription, making trial cancellation available before the paid period begins.
Final Draft Suite automatically starts the paid subscription selected at checkout when the free trial ends. The Annual Plan bills USD $99.99 per year, and the Monthly Plan bills USD $16.99 per month after the trial. Subscription fees are charged in advance for the selected billing cycle, with subsequent renewals at the then-current fee unless cancelled. Monthly subscription charges are non-refundable, including the first charge following the trial. The first paid annual charge has a seven-day refund window that also applies when the subscription follows a trial. A qualifying annual refund returns that invoice's subscription fee and immediately cancels the subscription and removes paid access.
Direct Final Draft single-user software purchases have a thirty-day money-back guarantee, with refunds based on the purchase amount. The guarantee runs from the purchase, and each customer is limited to two refunds per software version. Refund requests are sent to refunds@finaldraft.com and need the purchase Order Number together with the reason for the request. All computers where the software was installed must be signed out before the refund is issued. Account entitlements must also be removed, and submitting a request alone does not guarantee acceptance. A previously refunded or returned product cannot later establish eligibility for an upgrade discount, so a return also affects that future purchase route.
A discounted Final Draft upgrade can be paid by card or through Paypal Express Checkout using PayPal or Venmo. The purchase process recommends a credit card or credit-debit card after account sign-in. Before reaching payment, the upgrade purchase requires the customer number or email registered to the earlier version. An applicable promotion is added beneath the order summary and applied before Place Order completes the transaction. The account email for the new purchase can differ from the previously registered software email. Once the transaction succeeds, the purchase confirmation arrives by email with the receipt and download links, connecting the completed payment to the new license.
Yes. A Final Draft coupon and a promo code are the same thing: paste the code in the promo field at checkout before you pay.
