Background checks and verification for businesses and individuals.

Savings opportunities available through Checkr coupon codes

Checkr offers savings through account promotions, nonprofit pricing and package selection. Background checks use pay-as-you-go pricing, with Basic starting at $29.99 per report. Eligible nonprofits receive 15% off criminal searches after submitting nonprofit documentation to support. Account promotions arrive through promotional emails or appear under Promotions in the Dashboard. Standard report orders have no monthly or annual subscription fee, so spending follows completed reports. Selected add-ons and access fees affect the total alongside the package charge. The free Profiles option provides identity verification and criminal screening for sharing a personal profile.

Eligible products and services

Service categories frequently on promotion

Checkr promo codes apply to the packages specified by each promotion. Essential starts at $59.99 per report with unlimited county criminal searches, while Complete starts at $94.99 per report with unlimited state and federal criminal searches. Nonprofit pricing covers criminal searches in the Basic+, Essential and Complete packages. County, state and federal criminal searches are also included in that nonprofit programme, along with several other named searches. Standard orders allow package selection and optional additional screenings before submission. The amount billed reflects the chosen coverage and any record-access charges needed to complete it.

Services usually excluded from promo codes

Checkr promo codes do not apply to already discounted packages or passthrough fees unless the promotion states otherwise. Each promotion identifies its eligible packages, and codes are nontransferable. The Professional package is ineligible for the nonprofit discount. Other invoice components can include selected add-ons, service fees and access charges from courts, motor vehicle departments or databases. Checkr passes record-access charges through at cost without markup, with applicable taxes payable. Because the records accessed depend on the candidate’s information, the final report amount cannot be determined before the search process begins.

Factors influencing the final discount value

Impact of billing cycle on promotional price

Checkr’s standard background checks use per-report billing rather than a monthly or annual subscription charge. Recurring background check subscriptions, called rechecks, also charge when a report completes; the selected interval determines when another check runs. Continuous monitoring uses a different arrangement, with a monthly monitoring fee for each enrolled candidate. Signed orders have monthly invoicing under the Services Agreement, while other customers can be charged automatically per report. The charge for any screening reflects the package, additional searches and applicable access fees, so billing frequency and search coverage both affect spending.

Promo codes vs. automatically applied offers

Checkr allows one promo code per order and does not combine codes unless a promotion states otherwise. Codes are also single-use by default and can be redeemed only by the customer receiving them. A code entered during Submit order is applied with the Apply button. Alternatively, saving it under Payment & billing, Promotions and Discount codes makes it apply automatically to the next eligible order. Partner-integrated customers billed directly by Checkr use that account-level route. Their integration does not display the promotion, while the invoice shows the applied code and discount.

Accessing active codes for Checkr

Enter a Checkr promo code during the final Submit order step in the Dashboard. First, Order background check starts package and screening selection, followed by candidate details and order review. The top-right shopping cart icon opens Order Summary during this process. At the final step, the option to add a promo code accepts the entry, and Apply submits it. An invalid code or one that cannot apply to the order produces an error message. For future orders, Payment & billing contains Promotions, where the Discount codes section saves an entry with Apply. Checkr Discount FAQs

Enter your Checkr promo code during the final Submit order step, then select Apply. Ordering begins with Order background check in the Dashboard, where you choose the hiring location, a package and any additional screenings before supplying candidate details. The shopping cart icon at the top right opens Order Summary while you work through the order. At submission, the option to add a promo code accepts the entry and applies it to an eligible package. An invalid or inapplicable entry produces an error message. Account-level redemption is another route: the Discount codes section under Payment & billing and Promotions saves a promotion for the next eligible order.

Checkr displays an error when a promo code is invalid or cannot apply to your order. Unless stated otherwise, codes are redeemable only once and belong to the customer who received them, so transferring a promotion does not meet the redemption rules. Each promotion determines which packages qualify, and already discounted packages and passthrough fees are excluded from standard code eligibility. Multiple codes cannot be combined on the same order. During the final Submit order step, entering the promotion and selecting Apply submits it for that order. The Promotions tab also shows available account promotions and the status of active promotions already applied to the account.

Checkr promo codes cannot be combined and exclude already discounted packages unless the promotion states otherwise. The default limit is one code per order, with a single redemption for the customer to whom Checkr offered it. Package eligibility is defined by the individual promotion rather than a blanket discount across every screening charge. Passthrough fees remain outside the standard promo-code reduction, even when a package qualifies. A saved account promotion automatically applies to the next eligible order after you enter it in Discount codes and select Apply. Its account status is available in Promotions, while directly billed partner orders display the promotion and reduction on the invoice.

Checkr discounts criminal searches in the Basic+, Essential and Complete packages for eligible nonprofit customers. The nonprofit reduction is 15%, and confirming eligibility requires submitting 501(c)(3) documentation to the support team. Basic+ includes a Social Security number trace, sex offender registry search, global watchlist search and national criminal search. Essential adds county criminal searching to that package, and Complete extends the coverage with state and federal criminal searches. The Professional package is ineligible for this nonprofit reduction. Account promo codes have their own rules and exclude already discounted packages unless stated otherwise, so the nonprofit package selection and a separate code do not establish automatic stacking eligibility.

Submit your 501(c)(3) documentation to Checkr’s support team to confirm nonprofit status for the criminal-search discount. Eligible nonprofit customers receive 15% off criminal searches, including qualifying searches within the Basic+, Essential and Complete packages. The same programme names individual county, state and federal criminal searches, global watchlist searches, continuous criminal searching, FACIS searching, county and federal civil searches, and aliases. Professional is outside the eligible nonprofit packages. A separate account promotion follows its own redemption restrictions, including the default exclusion for already discounted packages. The documentation upload establishes nonprofit status, while the package or individual search chosen determines whether that nonprofit pricing applies to the screening.

Yes, a Checkr discount remains valid when redeemed during the promotion period if the candidate completes the check within 60 days. This completion condition connects the redemption to the report that ultimately reaches the invoice, rather than only to the moment an invitation is sent. Invitations are sent daily until authorization or expiry and expire after seven days by default, with a customizable timeframe. Expired invitations incur no charge, and another invitation initiates a new report. When an activated promotion’s first background check is canceled, it moves to the next eligible completed report instead. Completed report charges appear on the next invoice, including eligible promotional reductions.

Checkr transfers the activated promotion to the next eligible report that completes if the first background check is canceled. Cancellation itself does not guarantee that a processed report becomes free: completed portions can still be chargeable. Pending or suspended reports allow cancellation of unfinished screenings through Cancel screenings, which stops those screenings and finalizes the report as Canceled. Completed screening results remain available, while the report PDF omits canceled screenings. Sending or canceling an invitation carries no charge, which is different from stopping a report already being processed. The saved promotion therefore follows the next qualifying completed report, while charges for processed screening work remain part of billing.

Checkr’s fees become nonrefundable once services have been initiated, and account adjustments use invoice credits rather than card or bank refunds. Credit memos apply to the next invoice, and invoices cannot be updated after they have been sent. Canceling unfinished screenings can stop further processing, but portions already processed remain chargeable. A canceled report can still appear among the finalized statuses that generate an invoice charge. An activated promo attached to the canceled check moves to the next eligible completed report. This separates the promotional benefit from the original report’s billing outcome: cancellation can preserve the discount for a later qualifying report without reversing completed screening work.

Yes, customers billed directly by Checkr can save the promo in Checkr Dashboard for their next eligible partner-integrated order. The account-level route starts at Payment & billing, then Promotions, where Discount codes accepts the entry and Apply saves it. The saved reduction can apply whether the eligible order comes from the Dashboard or the partner integration. The integration itself does not show the promotion being applied, but the invoice displays the code and discount. This functionality is separate from promotions or credits entered during partner signup. Accounts whose partner handles billing use that partner’s billing terms, and billing questions or disputes are directed to the partner.

Checkr promo codes exclude passthrough fees unless the promotion states otherwise, and applicable taxes remain payable. Courts, motor vehicle departments and databases charge for retrieving records, with those amounts passed through at cost and without markup. Selected package coverage and additional screenings contribute separately to the report total. The final access charges depend on the record sources needed after the search starts, so the complete amount cannot be established in advance. The invoice CSV identifies the fees associated with individual reports. Within Payment & billing, the Invoices tab provides the reports_usage.csv download in the Past invoices table’s Reports column, giving the itemized breakdown of access and service charges.
