OwlCrate coupons and deals for book subscription boxes, limited editions and bookish goods.
Savings opportunities available through OwlCrate discount codes
OwlCrate sells book subscription boxes, limited editions and bookish goods; the offers on this page help you look for discounts on your purchase. The YA Fantasy Book Only subscription is monthly. Subscribers can also collect reward points and redeem them for discounts on books and goodies.
Eligible products and services
Service categories frequently on promotion
The range includes monthly book subscriptions. YA Fantasy Book Only delivers a signed, exclusive hardcover fantasy novel each month. A promo code follows its own eligibility terms, so the product named in the offer matters.
Services usually excluded from promo codes
Promotional codes cannot reduce previous purchases or subsequent automatically renewed transactions. They are not redeemable for cash or credit. Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout.
Factors influencing the final discount value
Impact of billing cycle on promotional price
Monthly subscriptions renew on the first of the month. The promotional reduction does not carry into subsequent automatic renewals; a discounted subscription purchase and its later recurring transactions are separate costs.
Promo codes vs. automatically applied offers
A promotional code cannot be combined with another offer or promotional discount. That combination rule matters when deciding between a code and another promotion for the same purchase.

No, an OwlCrate promotional code does not carry over to subsequent automatic renewals. The code’s reduction belongs to the eligible purchase, rather than every recurring transaction. Later automatic renewals do not receive that promotional discount. Treat the first term’s discount separately from the cost of continuing the subscription.
No, OwlCrate promotional codes cannot be combined with another offer or promotional discount. A second promotion cannot accompany the code on the same purchase. The restriction covers other offers as well as promotional discounts. Each code must also meet the eligibility terms attached to it.
An OwlCrate promo code must be redeemed by its published expiry. Its individual terms also govern how it can be used. Codes are non-transferable, so passing a promotion to someone else is restricted. They cannot be exchanged for cash or credit, or applied toward a previous purchase.
Multiple OwlCrate reward coupons can trigger an error saying discount codes have been changed or removed. This specific checkout issue affects coupons entered together in the Discount Code or Gift Card field. OwlCrate's documented workaround allows the purchase to be completed, followed by an email to customer support containing the OWL order number and the coupons intended for that purchase. Support can then refund the amount those coupons would have saved. This exception addresses the reward-coupon error; it differs from simply forgetting to enter a coupon. Shipping and taxes remain outside coupon savings, and redeeming more points than the product needs can lose their excess value.
Your OwlCrate coupon's eligibility depends on whether it covers shop items or subscriptions. General coupons do not all work on the same products, and their accompanying conditions determine where they can be redeemed. Limited Edition books and boxes and Store Exclusives items are subject to general coupon restrictions. Coupons redeemed from reward points can be used on all shop items, giving them a different scope from general promotions. Their value still applies to products rather than delivery. If the redeemed reward value is greater than the eligible product amount, the unused points are not returned. Removing an extra reward coupon preserves it for a later purchase.
OwlCrate cannot retrospectively apply a coupon that you forgot to enter before completing your purchase. The standard coupon policy requires redemption at checkout, rather than cancelling the coupon and refunding its value against a completed order. A forgotten coupon can instead be kept for a future purchase. Reward coupons have no expiry, while general promotional coupons can have a limited redemption period. The reward-coupon checkout error has a separate support remedy, which applies when multiple reward coupons fail together. That remedy requires the completed OWL order number and the intended coupons. General coupon terms also exclude using a promotion toward a previous purchase.
OwlCrate's announced shop-sale discounts are pre-applied, so those reductions do not require a typed promo code. Each separately placed order has shipping calculated at checkout and ships independently from other orders made during the sale. OwlCrate cannot combine those orders into one shipment, even when they were placed on the same day. An item sitting in the cart is not reserved, and a sold-out sale item will not be restocked. Once processing begins, customer support cannot cancel or refund the order or change its shipping address. General promotional codes also cannot be combined with another offer or promotional discount under the promotional terms.
OwlCrate accepts major credit cards and PayPal at checkout for purchases where you enter an eligible coupon. Accepted cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover. Prepaid cards and Visa Gift Cards are not all accepted because individual cards can have purchase restrictions. Coupon value covers product charges rather than shipping or taxes, so those separate amounts remain part of the payment. Sales tax is determined by the shipping address and automatically added using the applicable rate at the time of charge. A subscription checkout also shows its recurring subtotal separately from the initial payment, excluding shipping, tax, duties and applicable discounts.
Yes. An OwlCrate coupon and a promo code are the same thing: paste the code in the promo field at checkout before you pay.
