A subscription works differently. Each plan requires you to commit to paying a minimum amount at the beginning of every month while your account is in “active” status. Yes, the recurring monthly free credits stop. If you upgrade to a pre-commit plan, recurring monthly free credits will no longer be issued, and accounts on pre-commit (subscription) plans are not eligible for the free tier. Any remaining unused free credits at the time of upgrade remain available to use. The free tier is available to all new accounts and is applied automatically at signup. Free credits normally reset to 5,000 on the first of each month, and unused credits do not roll over. Adding a credit card is a verification step only, and you will not be charged unless your free credits are exhausted and you have funds deposited in your account.

Pay-as-you-go works differently from a subscription: Bright Data operates on a pre-paid wallet model, so you are only ever charged for funds you have explicitly deposited. An account with no deposited funds gets a hard stop and no charges occur. If you process a credit card chargeback or bank dispute and the reason is unjustified, Bright Data charges a handling fee of $150 per charge. On pay-as-you-go you add funds from the Billing page, and there is no minimum commitment.
