Kraken+ waives eligible trading fees while spread and payment processing charges remain. Instant and recurring trades carry a standard 1% trading fee, and custom orders carry a 1.5% fee before the subscription waiver. The waiver covers eligible monthly trading volume through Kraken’s Buy, Sell and Convert features. The quoted purchase price includes a spread, whose size can vary with the asset, order size, order type and market volatility. Payment charges also depend on the method used for the purchase, including card payments. Deposit and withdrawal fees follow their own method and currency rules. For a funded transaction, the fee displayed on its confirmation is the fee you incur.
Use the referral invitation when creating your new Kraken account. The referred friend must be a new Kraken user who has never previously created an account. Kraken accepts an invite link or referral code for account creation in the mobile app. The friend then needs to deposit cash from a bank account and complete the offer requirements, including any minimum trading volume. Buying stablecoins does not satisfy the qualifying purchase requirement. The invitation connects the new account to the referral offer; completing its purchase conditions determines eligibility for the reward. The deadline for completing the referral requirements is 15 days after signup.
Kraken+ fee discounts require an active subscription and an eligible transaction. The subscription applies to Kraken web and app purchases rather than Kraken Pro trades. Kraken+ does not refund unused subscription time after you cancel. Cancellation preserves your benefits until the end of the current billing cycle, including eligible trading fee waivers. On Kraken web, the subscription page has a cancel button for subscriptions purchased there. Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google Play must be managed through that app store instead. Cancellation prevents future subscription charges when completed before the next billing period; it does not provide credit for a partially used period. Closing your Kraken account also leaves an app-store subscription active until you cancel it through the store. Cancel through the same platform that handled your original Kraken+ purchase.
Your Kraken+ promotional trial renews automatically unless you cancel it. The advertised mobile offer gives eligible subscribers a 30-day trial followed by a $4.99 monthly subscription, or its local currency equivalent. Only one free trial is available per user. Monthly billing and this advertised trial are offered through the Kraken mobile app, with subscription billing handled through Apple or Google Play. Spreads and payment processing fees continue to apply during fee-free trading. The subscription allowance resets at renewal, while the fee waiver remains subject to its monthly trading-volume limit. To prevent the first subscription charge, cancel through the platform where you subscribed before the trial ends.
Allow at least 14 days after completing the required referral steps. Kraken deposits the referral bonus into the account after the referred friend signs up and satisfies the offer conditions. In account settings, the Referrals area provides access to the invitation and progress dashboard. The reward amount and whether it is paid in digital assets or cash depend on the applicable offer. Adding another exchange, wallet or DeFi platform to the tax-reporting account can affect eligibility for that free report.
New York residents cannot use Kraken services. The geographic restriction covers Kraken, including Kraken Securities and Kraken Adviser, so a promotional offer does not provide access to a purchase there. Kraken also excludes Maine residents from its services. For customers who move outside those states, Kraken allows the new address to be used for account verification. Eligibility then depends on the rules for the new residence and the particular product being purchased. Within the United States, cash deposits are restricted to USD, and residents of Texas and New Hampshire cannot deposit or hold EUR or trade EUR pairs.
