A Lightspeed Payments refund for an Ecwid store order reaches the buyer within 5–10 business days. The refund uses the payment method and currency used for the purchase, and the total refunded cannot exceed the amount originally paid. The merchant can issue a full or partial refund from My sales, then Orders, by selecting the order and choosing Refund order from the Update order menu. Enter the amount in Refund Amount and click Refund to send it. An email notification can accompany the refund, and the order status changes to Refunded or Partially refunded. If the funds have not arrived after ten business days, the buyer should contact their bank.
Enter an Ecwid subscription promo code through Have a coupon code? in the desktop plan purchase flow. This checkout is reached from My Profile, then Billing and Plans, after selecting Upgrade to beside the subscription you want. Only the store owner can manage the subscription; staff accounts cannot access the billing page. Select monthly or annual billing before opening the coupon entry option, then enter payment information and finish with Pay and Upgrade. Subscription payments recur automatically each month or year until cancellation, and the new plan becomes available immediately after successful payment. If payment fails, open Billing and Plans for the error message and its recommended solution.
PayPal's original seller fees are not returned when you refund an Ecwid store order, including an order bought at a discount. PayPal does not charge a separate fee to process the refund, and transactions can be refunded within 180 days of receiving payment. You can return the full amount paid or issue a partial refund, with additional amounts returned later if needed. For eligible PayPal Checkout orders, open My sales, then Orders, select the order, and choose Refund order from the Update menu. Enter the amount in the Summary table and click Refund. To review the payment and refund details, open the order details and select Transaction details to reach PayPal.
Switching from annual to monthly Ecwid billing gives subscription credit, but unused amounts that cannot roll over as credit are not refunded. The change starts a new billing cycle, and credit from the unused portion of your annual plan goes toward the monthly subscription. On desktop, open My Profile, then Billing and Plans, click your subscribed plan's name, select Monthly Plan, and confirm with Switch to your selected plan. Only the account owner can change the payment schedule. SEPA Direct Debit supports annual subscriptions only, so switching to monthly billing requires another payment method. If a SEPA charge is outstanding, wait until that transaction settles before changing plans.
Ecwid's desktop subscription checkout accepts Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards, PayPal, and eligible SEPA Direct Debit payments. SEPA Direct Debit is available in selected EU countries for annual plans paid in euros. As the store owner, open My Profile, then Billing and Plans, select Upgrade to beside your chosen plan, and select monthly or annual billing. The Have a coupon code? option opens the discount entry field before you enter payment information and select Pay and Upgrade. Once payment is completed, the account switches to the new plan immediately. For SEPA payments, select an annual euro subscription rather than a monthly billing term.
The app developer handles billing questions for third-party apps in Ecwid's App Market, including requests to refund a discounted purchase. Apps have either internal or external billing, so the payment route depends on the application you installed. For internally billed apps, Ecwid collects monthly charges through your saved payment method and includes them on your invoices. Externally billed apps settle charges directly between you and the service provider. Open Apps, then My Apps, select the application, and find the developer's contact details in the Support section at the bottom of its details page. Before uninstalling the app, read the billing warning shown during the uninstall confirmation.
Ecwid offers savings with annual billing, with its pricing selector advertising 16% off compared with monthly billing. Annual subscriptions are charged once a year for the entire year, rather than collected as twelve separate monthly payments. Monthly and annual billing are available for Starter, Venture, Business, and Unlimited. An existing subscriber can change the billing term from My Profile, then Billing and Plans, using the store owner's account. Switching from monthly to annual billing combines the remaining monthly period with the new twelve-month period and changes the next renewal date accordingly. Select Annual when reviewing the plan, and review the upcoming charge and renewal details before confirming the switch.
A desktop Ecwid downgrade converts remaining subscription time into credit toward the lower plan and takes effect immediately. Features that belong only to your previous higher plan become unavailable when the switch occurs. As the store owner, open My Profile, then Billing and Plans, and select Switch beside the lower plan. Select Monthly or Annual as the billing cycle, then confirm with Switch to your selected plan. The lower plan's subscription uses the credit from remaining time rather than treating that time as a cash refund. The route matters: an iOS downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. For an immediate downgrade, follow the desktop Billing and Plans steps.
An Ecwid store order accepts one coupon, so two promo codes cannot be applied to the same order. In the cart, Redeem your coupon opens the coupon field when the merchant has an active coupon available. A monetary or percentage coupon reduces the order subtotal, which is the cost of the cart's items before taxes and shipping. Merchants can also issue free-shipping coupons or a single coupon that combines a product discount with free shipping. Eligibility can depend on the selected products, categories, minimum subtotal, customer status, or shipping method. For a combined discount and free-shipping coupon, select a shipping or delivery method included in that coupon's conditions.
Ecwid subscription charges are non-refundable, so cancellation stops future billing rather than returning a discounted subscription payment. You can cancel from My Profile, then Billing and Plans, in your Ecwid admin. Scroll to the bottom, select Cancel plan subscription, choose your reason, and click Unsubscribe to complete the cancellation. The subscription stops immediately, the payment method is removed from your Ecwid account, and there are no further charges. Your previous paid plan's features become unavailable, your online store and Instant Site stop being available to visitors, and admin access becomes restricted. Complete cancellation when you are ready for those immediate changes to your store's availability.
