Technology books, eBooks, video training, and digital learning resources.
Savings opportunities available through InformIT coupon codes
InformIT sells technology books, eBooks, video training, and other digital learning products. Books and eBooks receive an everyday 20% reduction from list price automatically. Print + eBook Best Value Packs lower the eBook portion by 65% when both formats are purchased together. Free UPS ground shipping offers another saving for book orders delivered within the United States, subject to the shipping promotion remaining available when you buy. Corporate buyers can request bulk discounts for print books and eBooks through the sales team. The monthly InformIT newsletter also delivers book, eBook, and video discounts to subscribers who select that mailing option.
Eligible products and services
Service categories frequently on promotion
The selected format sets the starting point for an InformIT discount. Book, eBook, and Book + eBook Bundle are distinct purchase options for A Tour of C++, 3rd Edition. The standalone eBook reaches the cart at $30.39, while the combined print and digital purchase totals $45.29 before any applicable tax or shipping. Product listings distinguish Your Price from List Price; a coupon calculation uses the latter. Technology learning topics include programming, networking, certification, and business management. Digital purchases are for personal use by a single user, while distributing copies to employees or students follows the corporate or educational sales route.
Services usually excluded from promo codes
InformIT excludes Book + eBook Best Value and Additional Savings bundles from discount codes. Fixed-price promotional bundles, products carrying special promotional discounts, and non-discountable titles also fall outside additional coupon reductions. Products promoted through retail partner sites are another excluded category. These restrictions concern the individual products, so an eligible item and an excluded item can appear together in the same order. The shopping cart separates Your Price and List Price for each selection and reports Discounts Applied beneath the items. Shipping and tax can then affect the payable total, independently of the reduction attached to eligible merchandise.
Factors influencing the final discount value
Impact of billing cycle on promotional price
InformIT book purchases are tied to the selected format and shipment. Payment is taken when an order ships, including the fulfilment of a preorder or backorder. Payment information for an outstanding order is retained for a limited period; an order that remains unfulfilled beyond that period is cancelled when those details are deleted. An unavailable backordered selection is held pending stock, with available items from a mixed order shipped separately. A waiting backorder can be cancelled by emailing customer service with the order number. Bank statements can temporarily display both the payment preauthorization and final charge for the same transaction.
Promo codes vs. automatically applied offers
InformIT already includes its everyday book and eBook discount in displayed prices. A typed coupon instead works against the product's list price, so its percentage cannot simply be added to the displayed markdown. Only one discount code is permitted for each order. Reusable discounts are saved to the customer's account and can be selected during checkout. Bundle savings belong to a different purchase option, and the bundle exclusions prevent treating them as another coupon layer. Discount codes also have expiration dates. InformIT promotional mailings deliver special offers, while the monthly newsletter covers discounts across books, eBooks, video, and other products.
Accessing active codes for InformIT
Choose the InformIT product format first and use Add to cart. View Your Cart opens the Shopping Cart, where each item has Your Price and List Price columns. Discounts Applied and Subtotal appear below the selections, followed by the notice that tax and shipping may be added at checkout. Proceed to Checkout leads to Sign In before the remaining purchase steps. The discount-code entry option is available during checkout, and an account can also supply a saved reusable discount. Expiration dates and product exclusions determine whether it applies; an eligible coupon need not reduce every item in a mixed cart. Scroll up for the current InformIT offers.

You can enter an InformIT promo code during checkout after adding your chosen product format to the cart. The Add to cart control belongs to the individual purchase option, so the selection can be a standalone book, standalone eBook, or combined purchase. View Your Cart displays the items with separate Your Price and List Price columns. Beneath those lines, Discounts Applied identifies the reduction and Subtotal gives the merchandise amount before any additional tax or shipping. Proceed to Checkout reaches the account sign-in step. A reusable discount already saved to your account can also be selected during checkout, using the same list-price basis as an entered coupon.
An InformIT discount code can fail because its expiration has passed or the selected product is ineligible for an additional discount. Coupons have fixed expiration dates, and non-discountable titles are among the restricted products. An ordering problem can also arise when the billing and shipping countries differ, even when the discount itself is suitable. Customer service handles purchase problems by phone, chat, or email at customer-service@informit.com. The cart identifies the selected product and format, which helps distinguish an unsuitable purchase option from a broader ordering issue. An active discount still needs an eligible item; changing to an eligible standalone purchase addresses a bundle-related restriction.
InformIT permits one coupon per order, so two discount codes cannot be stacked in the same purchase. A saved reusable discount is an alternative way to select that order's coupon during checkout. The merchandise calculation starts with the list price rather than subtracting another percentage from the already reduced catalog price. Your cart presents those prices in separate columns and totals the reduction below its item lines. Product restrictions continue to apply even when only one coupon is selected, including restrictions on specially promoted items. The resulting subtotal represents the merchandise calculation; tax and shipping may still be added as the order proceeds through checkout.
InformIT excludes Book + eBook bundles, fixed-price promotional bundles, specially discounted promotional products, retail-partner promotions, and non-discountable titles from additional codes. The Book + eBook exclusion covers both Best Value and Additional Savings purchase options. For a mixed cart, the restriction applies to the affected selection rather than making every item discountable through the same coupon. A product's separate Book or eBook option is a different purchase from its combined format. The cart records each format on its own line with its corresponding prices. Choosing a standalone format therefore changes which purchase option is assessed for the discount, while the bundle retains its built-in saving.
The everyday InformIT discount on books and eBooks applies automatically, without entering a coupon. Displayed prices include a 20% reduction from the list price for those purchases. A product page presents the reduced amount as Your Price and the starting amount as List Price. The same distinction continues in the Shopping Cart, which also shows the reduction under Discounts Applied. Choosing an eBook alone or together with its print edition creates different purchase options, each carrying its own displayed amount. A later coupon calculation refers back to list price. The separate format selection therefore matters when comparing the automatic reduction with the offers on this page.
You can select an InformIT discount saved to your account during checkout when that discount allows repeated use. Reusable codes are retained with the account rather than requiring a new entry for every eligible purchase. Signing in also provides access to digital purchases and registered products, while the account setup offers saved billing and shipping addresses for checkout. Product registration can provide bonus material or a coupon, depending on the title. These account features do not change the list-price basis used for discounts. A saved promotion remains subject to its expiration and the chosen product's eligibility; account storage is separate from permission to discount a particular purchase.
An eligible InformIT user group can receive an exclusive member discount through the community event-support program. Qualification requires at least 10 active members, an active information website, and regular online or in-person meetings. Requests go to community@informit.com at least 20 business days before the meeting. The application includes the group and leader names, website, contact email, delivery address for in-person support, and the next meeting's theme and date. After assessing the information, InformIT supplies suitable learning resources and a member discount. Print books can be requested for in-person events. Each meeting needs its own request, so support for an earlier event does not replace the next application.
InformIT refund eligibility depends on the purchased format: qualifying physical goods can be returned, while eBooks and other digital goods cannot. Books must remain in their original condition, and other physical products must be unopened. The return window runs for 30 days from shipment, with shipping costs deducted from the refund. Customer service issues the required Returns Material Authorization through customer-service@informit.com before materials are sent back. The return must use traceable shipping and include that authorization. Late returns or missing paperwork prevent a refund and result in the product being returned to you. Keeping the physical item in its required condition preserves the applicable return route.
You can receive InformIT discounts by choosing its newsletter or promotional mailing options and supplying your email address. InformIT Promotional Mailings & Special Offers covers exclusive offers and product announcements, with an unsubscribe option available at any time. The InformIT newsletter arrives monthly and includes discounts on books, eBooks, video, and other products. These are separate mailing choices on the signup form. Newsletter settings can also be changed through Manage Newsletters in your account by removing the relevant selection and submitting the change. The mailing list selection determines whether you receive the monthly newsletter, promotional mailings, or both kinds of messages.
An InformIT merchandise discount does not replace the separate tax and shipping charges applicable to your order. The Shopping Cart warns that both may be added at checkout. State sales tax is collected for orders shipped to most states, and online school orders include a sales tax charge. Tax-exempt purchases require assistance from customer service through an OASIS account. The free shipping promotion covers books sent to a United States address using UPS ground; choosing another shipping method changes that treatment. International deliveries may also incur import duties and taxes payable by the customer. Selecting the qualifying ground service preserves the advertised shipping saving for an eligible domestic book order.
